FBI and US Coast Guard investigators have found evidence that hackers accessed the propulsion system of an oil supertanker as it was approaching the Texas coast this summer, according to US officials familiar with the matter, an extraordinary breach that highlights the growing physical risks from cyberattacks. California Gov. Gavin Newsom signed legislation establishing standards for investigating, testing and restoring smoke-damaged homes. Newsom signed Assembly Bill 1795, the Smoke Damage Recovery Act. The bill, authored by Assemblymember Mike Gipson and sponsored by California Insurance Commissioner Ricardo Lara, creates a presumption that smoke damage within a wildfire impact area resulted from the wildfire.
