The lawsuit, filed in the U.S. District Court, Southern District of Texas, alleges TWIA partnered with a vendor who made significant alterations to the original claims estimate made by a field adjuster. TWIA then sent the estimate to the policyholder under the premise that the estimate was the original, the lawsuit says. Officials in Akron, Ohio, have fired a police officer who shot and killed 15-year-old boy while also announcing that the city has agreed to pay $4.75 million to the teen’s family. EQT AB has agreed to acquire a majority stake in UK insurance broker McGill and Partners from Warburg Pincus LLC for $2 billion, as the Swedish buyout firm looks to accelerate the company’s global expansion. The investment will be made through EQT X, according to a statement on Friday. A major bridge in downtown Chicago remained stuck in the raised position for more than four hours Wednesday after dangerous heat caused its components to expand. A mobile home met its demise when it was moved by an unlicensed and uninsured tow truck driver, and another Mississippi man is charged with arson after he allegedly torched his own home in Indianola, the Mississippi Insurance Department announced.
