A Minnesota man was indicted by a grand jury for shooting and damaging a firefighting aircraft that was fighting a forest fire. Daniel Christian Pettit, 48, of Portage Township, Minnesota, was indicted by a grand jury for one count of damaging an aircraft and one count of discharging a firearm during a crime of violence. DoorDash said on Tuesday it reached a $131.5 million settlement of a New York City government probe that found the food delivery company underpaid or waited too long to pay workers. The settlement with the city’s Department of Consumer and Worker Protection includes a $16.7 million fine, and more than $83 million to resolve a dispute over how to calculate pay for workers who were logged into the app and on-call but not actually making deliveries, DoorDash said. British Columbia filed a lawsuit in California against OpenAI, alleging it could have used ChatGPT logs to warn police and avert a mass shooting in the Canadian province earlier this year. On Feb. 10, teenager Jesse Van Rootselaar allegedly killed five students and a teacher at Tumbler Ridge Secondary School in northern BC, as well as her mother, her half-brother and finally herself.
